San Diego Attractions
San Diego has lots of great attractions. It is located in southern California. From here to the border with Mexico and the famous wall separating both countries is only 30 km.
The main attraction of the city is the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier moored in its bay. The second most recognizable place in San Diego is La Jolla Cove with its wild fauna and flora.
Another point often visited by tourists is Coronado Island. We can admire there the historic Hotel Del Coronado and its wonderful beaches. On The Island there is also the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar. Most of scens of the “Top Gun” movie was created here.
San Diego has of course great beaches. Among them you will find ones that are dog-friendly, pets can do here whatever they want.
The city, thanks to the wonderful weather all year round, is a good place to surf.

San Diego Attractions-Aircraft carrier USS Midway
The port and the San Diego seafront are a very interesting place for military enthusiasts. We can visit here the Aircraft Carrier Museum, USS Midway, submarine and several other US Navy ships.
Visiting an aircraft carrier is rarely pleasure and I suggest to book a few hours for it. In addition to sightseeing, we can also listen to the stories of veterans serving on this type of ship.
They will tell you about everyday life on the aircraft carrier. They will explain, for example, what the procedure for taking off and landing aircraft on an aircraft carrier looks like. We can touch almost everything and even sit behind the controls of some aircrafts. We can also buy original clothes and gadgets from the US Navy.
San Diego Attractions – La Jolla
La Jolla is one of the most expensive districts of San Diego. In addition to expensive houses and hotels, La Jolla has some of the most beautiful beaches in all of California. Sandy beaches are cut by rocky cliffs where you will find seals, sea lions and various types of birds.
Animals here are used to human presence. You can rent a canoe here and explore the nearby caves.
San Diego Attractions-Coronado Island
We get to the island only by a very steep bridge that reaches the highest point of 60 m on the water. The bridge is so high, not without reason, the largest ships from the nearby US Navy Naval Base have to go under it.
The island itself is a very expensive place to live, the largest employers are the American army. The island is home to the historic Hotel Del Coronado, which opened in 1888 and was the largest hotel in the world at that time. The island also has one of the finest beaches in all of California.
